Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 12 lb round steak cut 12-inch thick
  • 14 c all-purpose flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 18 tsp pepper
  • 14 c cooking oil
  • 1 8 oz can tomatoes
  • 1 34 c water
  • 12 c chopped onion
  • 1 small clove garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp beef flavor gravy base
  • 1 12 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large bell peppers large dice
  • hot cooked rice

Directions

  1. Cut steak in strips
  2. Combine flour salt and pepper
  3. Coat meat strips
  4. In large skillet saute meat in hot oil until brown on all sides
  5. Drain tomatoes reserve liquid
  6. Add tomato liquid and water to meat
  7. Add onion garlic and gravy base
  8. Cover and simmer for 1 14 hours until meat is tender
  9. Uncover
  10. Add Worcestershire sauce
  11. Add bell peppers
  12. Cover and simmer 5 minutes
  13. Add drained tomatoes
  14. Cook 5 minutes more
  15. If thicker sauce is desired thicken with water and flour mixture
  16. Serve over hot rice
