Italian Cream Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 12 c Crisco
  • 2 c sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2 c plain flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 small can coconut
  • 12 c chopped nuts I use black walnuts
  • 5 egg whites

Directions

  1. Cream butter sugar and Crisco Add egg yolks one at a time Add soda to milk then alternately with dry ingredients Fold in egg whites vanilla nuts and coconut Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 Makes 3 layers
