Fresh Apple Pound Cake

Ingredients
- 1 c shortening
- 2 c sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp margarine
- 3 c plain flour
- 1 12 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp allspice
- 12 tsp nutmeg
- 12 tsp salt
- 12 tsp soda
- 34 c buttermilk
- 1 c fresh apples grated
- 12 c chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325
- Cream shortening and sugar
- Add eggs beating after each one
- Add vanilla and mix well
- Mix flour spices salt and soda together and add to sugar mixture alternately with buttermilk
- Fold in apples and pecans
- Blend well
- Pour into 10-inch well-greased and floured tube cake pan Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
- Remove and brush with glaze
