Cream Puffs

Ingredients

  • 12 c shortening
  • 1 c boiling water
  • 1 c sifted flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 eggs

Directions

  1. Add shortening to boiling water and bring to a boil
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Add flour and salt all at once and stir vigorously until ball forms in center of pan
  4. Cool slightly
  5. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each egg
  6. Mixture should be very stiff
  7. Shape on greased cookie sheet by dropping from spoon or pastry bag
  8. Bake
  9. Cook medium size 3-inch for 10 minutes at 450 and 20 minutes at 350
  10. Cool
  11. Cut slice off top Fill with cream ice cream or pudding
  12. Yield 18 medium-size
