Coconut Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 34 c sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 2 12 Tbsp flour
  • 2 12 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 c milk
  • 34 c coconut
  • 3 egg yolks beaten
  • 1 12 tsp vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 18 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 9-inch baked pie crust

Directions

  1. Mix
  2. together
  3. flour
  4. cornstarch
  5. sugar and salt
  6. Add milk Cook
  7. until thick
  8. Add 12 of the mixture to egg yolks Stir well
  9. Addother 12 of mixture
  10. Stir well and return to same saucepan
  11. Cook 5 minutes longer
  12. Add coconut and vanilla
  13. Put in baked pie crust
