Baked Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage about 2 12 lb
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 18 tsp pepper
  • 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 c hot milk
  • 1 c grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Butter a 12 x 8-inch shallow baking dish Discard outer leaves from cabbage
  3. Wash head and cut into 12 wedges
  4. Put 1 cup water in large skillet Bring to a boil Add 1 teaspoon salt and the cabbage Cook over medium heat covered 10 minutes Drain well
  5. Arrange cabbage in prepared baking dish Sprinkle with mixture of flour sugar 1 teaspoon salt and the pepper
  6. Dot with butter
  7. Pour hot milk over cabbage Sprinkle with cheese
  8. Bake uncovered 35 minutes Makes 8 servings
